We support the international boycott campaign of Ahava products

Ahava is a privately held Israeli cosmetics company which manufactures its products in the Occupied Palestinian Territories via the exploitation of Palestinian natural resources: an act deemed illegal by international law.

Enterprises such as Ahava perpetuate the increasing presence of Israel's illegal settlements in occupied Palestinian land by making the Occupation profitable. As a result, Ahava is playing a role in financing the destruction of hope for a peaceful and just future for both Israelis and Palestinians.

Open Shuhada Street is initiating a boycott campaign of Ahava products. Like other groups in cities throughout the world, in doing so we are sending a clear message to Ahava that we are against the continued flouting of international law and the illegal Israeli exploitation of Palestinian resources. The boycott is not against individuals but against the policies and practices which are impeding a just and peaceful resolution to the conflict.

Open Shuhada Street has arranged to hire The Bookery as a venue for a meeting this weekend. It will consist of an introductory presentation of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, followed by a briefing on why and how we are initiating our boycott campaign of Ahava products.

Meeting time and location: Saturday 21st of August, 14h00-16h00 at The Bookery, at 20 Roeland St., Cape Town.
